Small Businesses (Groups with 2 to 50 employees):

Benefits are paramount in attracting and retaining the best of the work force. With the specific needs of the small business in mind, Amil developed The Passport Option for small businesses.
PASSPORT:
Our small group product called The Passport Option is available for employers with 2-50 employees. It offers a variety of financial alternatives and levels of our-of-pocket expenses so you can tailor a benefit option to your Company's needs. The Passport Option requires no referrals or gatekeepers. The employee determines at the point of service which providers they want; their choice determines the level of reimbursement. Passport is the only small group healthcare product that offers performance guarantees. With Passport, Amil is extending to the small group market a feature of the large group healthcare contracts: we not only promise you excellence in service; we put our money where our mouth is.
Large Businesses (Groups with more than 50 employees):
PPO and HMO plans: Amil also offers coverage to employers with more than 50 employees through our HMO and PPO products. The employer can elect to offer employees an HMO plan or a PPO plan on a stand-alone basis. We can also design a dual choice plan that offers both our HMO and PPO products together. This allows the employee at the time of enrollment to decide which plan (HMO/PPO) they want to enroll in for the year. The choice is up to the employer. We have designed two approaches to the delivery of our PPO medical plans that we believe will address the above-mentioned concerns. We have priced our PPO products according to the contractual advantages we have negotiated with each of our medical networks, and are thus passing those cost advantages on to the Amil members. We are offering a product (PPO Orange) that provides access to all the area hospitals, and a product (PPO Green) that provides a competitive price without sacrificing benefits. Both products offer the same very high quality of medical care available in Austin. The only difference between our two products is the composition of the provider network. This is a unique approach that allows you to offer your employees their choice of medical provider without having them decipher benefit differences, yet allows you, employer, to control your capital investment.
PPO ORANGE:
This option allows you, employer, to offer your employees and their families a choice of provider each time they need care, among a network that includes most doctors and all the hospitals in the Austin and surrounding areas. Dual Network PPO Option:
This is a very flexible PPO product which can provide you, employer, with a cost-effective alternative while allowing your employees a personal choice of networks. With this plan, you can offer your employees an annual choice of the network that they want to participate in. In addition to different physicians and hospitals, the networks will have different costs associated with the specific network. The benefits to you, employer, are multiple network choices so you are no longer put in the position to limit your employees' access to their personal doctor.
You only have one plan administrator who offers multiple networks instead of having to work with a different vendor for each network.
You will have only one benefit plan which eliminates the confusion created by multiple carriers with nuances in coverage and administration.
You will have one bill with the rates itemized by employee which will simplify the billing procedures.
You can choose to pay for the least expensive plan which reduces the company's fiscal responsibilities and gives their employees the option to "buy up" if they prefer another network.
Employees choose between a network that utilizes Columbia hospitals and a network that focuses on the Seton affiliates.
